Garden Designer Jo Thompson was employed by the client on this project to come up with a scheme which was modern and usable. The client had a newly extended kitchen styled in dark grey with bi-fold doors which opened out the entire width of the house, the design was to pull the garden and living areas together yet remain individual. After the design was completed they asked for contact details of a professional landscaper which could carry out the project. We were selected for the task in hand and constructed the garden with minimal disruption, even though access was only available through the house!
Work was carried out during the installation of the kitchen and involved careful planning in order to work alongside the kitchen contractors. The original garden, which was a simple courtyard laid mainly to lawn was removed and levels were reduced. A new discrete slot drain was installed to remove rain water from the area and then the new garden, which utilised cobbles along with stone paving and setts to create a geometric pattern was constructed. An horizontal timber slatted fence and matching bench with hidden storage introduces softer materials. The scheme is softened further with bold planting and tied to the kitchen with the dark grey storage shed.
“Red Sky Landscapes have completely transformed our garden and it now looks better than I ever hoped it would. The quality of the work was to a very high standard and I particularly love the cobbled areas in my patio which I don’t think was very easy to lay. They were very helpful, advising me on planting schedules and discussing options with me as the work progressed.
I would highly recommend them to anyone”
